A logo is more than a PNG
A good logo should not just work on a website today. It should still work years later across print, signage, vehicle graphics, workwear, exhibition displays, business cards, social media and anything else the business grows into.
The same issue can apply to AI-generated logos. AI tools are trained by looking at what already exists, so the results can often feel like stock ideas blended with other stock ideas. They may look polished at first glance, but that does not mean they are distinctive, ownable, scalable or ready for proper business use.
The same applies when a business only receives a PNG logo file.
A logo should not limit your business later. It should grow with it.
Why a PNG logo is not enough
A PNG might be fine for a quick website upload, but it is not enough for a growing business. It is not properly scalable, colours may not be suitable for print, and it can cause real problems when the logo is needed for signage, vehicle graphics, workwear, exhibition stands, printed literature or large-format display.
Good logo design is not only about how something looks on screen. It is about making sure a business has the right files, in the right formats, for the right uses.
A business may need logo files for
- Websites.
- Printed literature.
- Signage.
- Vehicle graphics.
- Business cards.
- Uniforms and branded workwear.
- Exhibition displays.
- Social media graphics.
- Email signatures.
Proper master artwork matters
All of these uses can need different versions of the same brand identity.
That is why proper master artwork matters. Vector files matter. Colour breakdowns matter. Print-ready versions matter. Clear archives matter.
A business should know that its logo can be supplied correctly for the job at hand, whether that is a small digital icon or a large sign on the side of a building.
Good design thinks beyond the first job
A logo file should not just be suitable for the one thing a client asked for at the time. A good designer or agency should think about how that brand may need to be used next, even if the client has not reached that stage yet.
Archives are part of good creative support
At KF:D, we once had a client come back to us after around 12 years asking whether we still had the original master files for their logo.
We did.
They were safely stored in our archive, on a CD no less.
We supplied fresh copies of the logo files, but that small request also opened the door to a new phase of work, including printed materials, business cards and a new website.
Good creative support does not end when the first file is sent. It continues as the business grows.
Why so many clients come back
That is the value of working with a design agency that thinks beyond the first job.
It is also why so many of our clients come back to us again and again.
Working with KF:D means working with people who take the time to understand your business. We build close relationships so we can deliver solutions that fit your goals and support your day-to-day needs. We are flexible, responsive and committed to dependable creative support at every stage.
- Do you have the original vector version of your logo?
- Do you have print-ready artwork?
- Do you know the correct colour breakdowns?
- Can your logo be used on signage or vehicle graphics?
- Are your master files safely stored?
- Would you know where to find them in five or ten years?
Experience and relationships matter
With over 35 years of experience and around 80% repeat business, we know that good design is not just about the first file you receive.
It is about having the right creative support behind your business as it grows.
A good logo should be distinctive, scalable and practical. It should be supplied properly, stored carefully and ready to support the business across every place customers see it.
